“The Chosen Ones” is set in a dystopian future where “The System” governs a highly controlled and oppressed society. Humans appear brainwashed, serving as tools of this regime, though its ultimate goals remain unclear. The story revolves around four women who initially conform to the system but gradually rebel against it. A women’s network forms to help the player of this three-channel computer game end an unwanted pregnancy, reclaiming self-determination. The colorful, playful video installation tackles heavy societal issues such as patriarchy, religion, rape, and reproductive rights.
